About Us The Art Factory is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing the Augusta community with high quality fine arts educational experiences that also promote the development of positive life skills. The Art Factory provides classes in dance, drama, music, and the visual arts in an effort to provide the community with comprehensive arts education. From its inception in 1994, the Art Factory's primary focus has been targeting low income youth based on the philosophy that the arts should be available to anyone regardless of physical, emotional, or financial challenges.
The Art Factory has become a center for arts education aligning its arts curriculums in dance, theatre, music, and the visual arts with the National Standards for Arts Education. Working with a professional faculty, The Art Factory offers classes through partnerships throughout the area: · Art @ School is an arts infusion residency program designed to link the artistic and academic curricula for elementary students in grades K-5. This program focuses on children’s literary publications, arts instruction, elements and techniques of an art form, and academic objectives. Art @ School residencies are available for 12 - 14 weeks and are taught by professional artists who are members of the Art Factory's faculty. All instruction is aligned with the Georgia Performance Standards and the National Standards for Arts Education. This program is supported in part by the Greater Augusta Arts Council through appropriations from the City of Augusta. · Art Classes at the Kroc Center Classes will be offered in Ballroom Dancing, Drama, Pottery, Mixed Media, African Dance and Drumming, Ceramics, Kindermusik, Drawing, Painting, Photography, Creative Writing, Hip Hop, Creative Movement, and a dance class for former dancers who just want to dance. Additional partners include the Richmond County Board of Education, 21st Century Community Learning Center program, and other schools and organizations in the CSRA. · Summer Stock at The Art Factory is a musical theatre camp for ages 6-16, offered each summer.
